Building & shipping β€” CTO @ Knight Medicare | SWE @ Open Paws

Builder, Operator, Shipper

19-year-old CS student operating across civic tech, healthcare AI, EdTech, and open source. I build systems that ship and scale β€” usually running multiple at once.

56+ merged pull requests into production open source repos
8+ countries reached through Open Permit's civic intelligence layer
500+ contributors, learners, and builders touched across products and community
11 active bets across healthcare AI, civic tech, OSS, and research

Selected Work

A tighter cut of what I'm actually shipping

The homepage now leads with proof instead of listing everything equally. These are the projects with the clearest traction, strongest stories, or most interesting technical constraints.

🌍

Open Permit

Civic intelligence platform for high-stakes permit monitoring

Live

Built first at C4C Mumbai in under 10 hours, then scaled into a multi-country civic intelligence system that tracks permit activity, legal frameworks, and objection workflows.

8+ countries currently covered
200+ permits ingested into the platform
40 legal frameworks embedded into the workflow
Next.js Gemini API Supabase Express

The Adventurers Guild

Gamified developer marketplace built to make growth addictive

Live

A marketplace where companies post quests and student builders level up through real execution. It blends product mechanics, reputation design, and hiring signals into one system.

500+ users across the platform

XP progression-based ranking instead of static resumes
Next.js Prisma Neon Postgres TypeScript

LunaBot

Autonomous lunar reconnaissance rover

Finalist

Built for NASA Space Apps as a rover concept that scouts lunar landing sites before Artemis III astronauts arrive. It pushed me into robotics constraints, simulation thinking, and hardware-aware software decisions.

NASA Space Apps Global Finalist recognition
ROS2 robotics stack and orchestration backbone
Jetson NVIDIA hardware for edge compute experimentation

AfA Resource Chatbot

RAG system for advocacy knowledge retrieval

Internal

A retrieval layer for Open Paws that turns dense animal welfare resources into something teams can actually query in real time. It was less about making a chatbot and more about compressing search friction for operators.

RAG retrieval-first architecture instead of plain prompting
Dual vector storage setup for flexible retrieval paths
Ops built to support actual advocacy workflows
OpenAI Pinecone pgvector Python

Project Slingshot UK

Automated discourse-monitoring pipeline for factory farming

Research

A MEL dashboard that watches UK media, parliamentary activity, and online discourse to surface movement signals early. This one was mostly about data ingestion reliability and making noisy public data usable.

12+ API and source inputs feeding the pipeline
UK coverage tuned to one policy-heavy market
MEL dashboarding designed for decision support
Python Gemini 2.0 Flash Supabase Data Pipelines

Now

What has my attention right now

This is the layer the old homepage was missing. It makes the site feel current, directional, and a little more human instead of reading like a frozen brag sheet.

Current Operating System

Shipping across product, infra, open source, and research

Current

Builds

  • Knight Medicare is where I spend my highest-focus product energy: therapeutic UX, safety-minded system design, and making the platform reliable enough to matter.
  • Open Permit is the most leveraged civic-tech bet in the stack, and I am still pushing on data coverage, objection workflows, and institutional adoption paths.
  • The Adventurers Guild keeps pulling me back into game mechanics, talent systems, and how to make developer growth feel earned instead of performative.

Ops

  • Open source remains a daily practice, not a side quest. I care a lot about reviewer-approved work in repos that real teams already depend on.
  • I am still thinking deeply about infrastructure portability after the Supabase block, especially how to keep all 11 projects from becoming provider-bound.
  • Research is creeping closer to the center through LEWS, methodology writing, and the kinds of questions that deserve more than a hackathon prototype.

Thinking About

The questions underneath the code

Research

How to formalize LEWS into something that survives peer review instead of staying trapped as a strong hackathon artifact.

Leverage

Where AI tooling actually compounds execution and where it just creates a shinier version of busywork.

Infrastructure

How to design systems that can move when vendors, regions, or constraints change under you.

Open To

Conversations worth having

  • Interesting product, OSS, or research collaborations where execution quality matters more than vibes.
  • Operator conversations around civic tech, healthcare AI, open source leverage, and building while still in college.
  • People who want someone technical, fast, and slightly obsessive in the room while something ambitious gets built.

OSS Activity

Open source, shown as a live system

The profile proves I contribute. This section is about making that work legible on the portfolio itself, with a live calendar, current counts, and recent merged pull requests.

GitHub Pulse

Live contribution calendar

Open GitHub

This is fetched live from GitHub and proxied through the site, so it reflects the current public contribution calendar instead of a hardcoded screenshot.

1,538 Yearly contributions
94 Merged pull requests
44 Open pull requests
93 Public repositories

If the live call fails, the rest of this section still keeps the OSS story readable.

Activity Overview

Contribution mix

Inspired by GitHub’s native activity overview. The portfolio version turns that shape into a quick read on how the work usually shows up: mostly commits, some pull requests, a little issue activity, and code review where it matters.

Primary pattern shipping fixes and features into real codebases
Secondary pattern pull requests that survive reviewer scrutiny
Why this matters maintainer trust is stronger proof than self-reported skill

Latest Writing

Case studies, deep dives, and operational notes

The blog already had strong material. The homepage just wasn’t surfacing it. These are the three pieces that best explain how I think, build, and operate.

Civic Tech

Open Permit: From hackathon to 8+ countries

The cleanest example of how I like to build: fast initial execution, strong iteration loops, and an insistence that even β€œhackathon projects” can become real infrastructure.

Open Source

56+ merged PRs in production OSS

A breakdown of what those contributions actually looked like, why reviewer-approved work matters, and how I use open source as a forcing function for technical growth.

Contact

If something interesting is being built, I want to hear about it

I like conversations that are concrete: a product to build, an OSS problem worth solving, a weird systems question, or a collaboration that needs someone technical and fast.
